How to influence your Customers to Increase Sales

Sales is all about impressing your customers by offering them something that they have been looking for. When you go to a store, and the salesperson tells you if you would look at a particular item, you feel amused, and you start wondering; how does this person know what I want? Well, that is an example of an excellent salesperson, the one who is able to read customers’ minds and offer them a solution. Such a salesperson is able to sell more products and services to the customers because they have the ability to influence them in a better way. Let’s take a look at the different ways with the help of which companies can influence their customers for increased sales.

Create the Best First Impression

‘First impression is the last impression.’

We all have heard this phrase at many points in our lives. This phrase definitely holds some truth, especially when it comes to sales. When you are trying to sell something, you need to present your best self to the customers. Another thing that salespeople should keep in mind those customers are very choosy. They will judge your product by its cover, price, marketing, and much more. This means that the information that you give to your customers will help them decide whether to buy from you or not. So, make sure your first impression is a great one, which will help you successfully earn more sales.

Playing the Limited Supply Card

A great way to influence your customers to buy from you is to offer them a limited supply or limited time option. In order to earn a sale, you need to play with your customers’ minds. One such technique is ‘FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out’, which is used by many marketers to encourage customers to make a purchase without taking too much time to think.

For example, you send an email to your customers telling them about a discount that they can avail by purchasing on New Year’s night. Your customers will come under pressure and will feel the need to make an immediate decision. Although they will have a choice to make the purchase or not, they will more likely be buying something to get a discount than missing out on it. This fear of missing out on a good offer always works wonders for a company, enabling it to earn massive sales within a short period of time.

Prove Your Credibility

A salesperson telling a customer about the benefits of a product is less likely to amuse them as a review from another customer would. By putting customer feedback, reviews, and testimonials on your website, you will help build credibility. You can also get reviews written for your products and services, and make them available on different review platforms across the internet.

Offer Something in Return

The most attractive thing for customers is getting free stuff. When a customer makes a purchase at your store, make sure you end their purchase on a positive note. By offering something for free with customers’ purchase, you can increase the chances of turning them into repeat customers, meaning more sales.

Do not adopt mainstream sales techniques to attract customers, but try to understand what runs in their minds. By knowing about their feelings, needs, and wants, you can target them in the most effective way.
