Why Considering Self-Employment is Better than Your 9 to 5 Job?

Working under someone else and taking their orders is not everyone’s cup of tea. However, what most of us are worried about is going out of a job, which is why the idea of self-employment scares us even more. But self-employment is far better than your ordinary 9 to 5 job for the following reasons:

You Are In-Charge Of Everything

Taking orders from your boss and doing everything according to them is a big nuisance. But when it comes to self-employment, you really don’t have a boss. In fact, you are your own boss. You don’t have to listen to anyone’s orders but do as you may desire. No one will force you to work extra hours and no one will tell you to stop taking too many breaks.

You Get To Do What You Want

The greatest perk of working for yourself or freelancing is that you get to enjoy complete freedom. You can do whatever you want without anyone interfering in your business. Working for an employer, on the other hand, has limited flexibility and freedom. If you have a great strategy or idea in mind, you first have to get it approved by your manager and then your boss. However, when you are self-employed, you can work on any idea that you deem right without any trouble. You can head in any direction you desire without anyone’s interference.

You Earn As Much As You Can

What makes self-employment the number one choice for many is that they get to earn as much money as they want. When you are working for an employer, you are hired on a fixed monthly paycheck. Whether you get more clients or work harder, your paycheck remains the same until your salary is revised. Self-employment, on the other hand, doesn’t limit your income. If you work harder, you can earn more money instantly without sharing it with anyone else. That’s the reason those who freelance get to make more money than employed individuals.

You Get To Feel Secure

Living in the fear that your employer might fire you when the economy is down is absolutely pathetic. But this is something self-employed individuals do not have to fear. Because they are freelancing, they are their own bosses and don’t have to live in the fear of getting kicked out of their job. They feel much secure and can continue to work in peace for as long as they like.

You Can Still Be Social

Those who work on a 9 to 5 job are bound by their employer’s rules. They have to follow their timings and instructions. When they are asked to stay late, they have to put in extra work hours. Plus there’s a constant effort to perform well to get good appraisals and promotions, which is why such people are deprived of a normal social life. But this is not the case with self-employed individuals because they choose their working hours depending upon their needs.
