Companies that offer us fast moving consumer goods, also known as FMCG companies have played a crucial role in our lives. Delivering us with products that we use in our everyday lives, including our shampoos, soaps, breakfast cereal and more, they need to FMCG companies have a high standard to maintain.

2018 has been no different for FMCG companies in terms of challenges and pitfalls. However, as consumers have grown more demanding, the pressure for delivering quality in everything is necessary. The following are the top global FMCG companies of 2018 who manage to consistently deliver in terms of quality:

1.   Nestle

Established in 1866 by Henri Nestle, a pharmacist, and food producer, largely for kids, Nestle has grown in leaps and bounds. The company has held the Number 1 spot as the top global FMCG Company since 2011 and remains unshaken in 2018. Brands from Nestle that are among their most profitable ones include:

2.   Pepsi Co.

Set up in 1931, Pepsi Co. is known as one of the biggest competitors for Coca-Cola and other FMCG companies. 2018 has been a good year for Pepsi Co. and they reported earnings of $6.39 billion in March alone. They’ve finished the year strong and have remained among the most demanded companies in the Food and Beverage category.

Their success is also owed to the fact that they cater to around 100 countries across the globe and have a strong image in the marketplace. The debate over which is better, Pepsi or Coke?, has also helped to give Pepsi a strong brand loyal target market.

3.   Unilever

A brand which is always in competition with Nestle, Unilever has a marked outreach in over 180 different countries across the globe. They reported earnings of over $5.96 billion and have over 800 brands under their company umbrella. The following brands are among the most profitable for Unilever:

4.   Coca-Cola

The biggest competitor to Pepsi Co. Coca-Cola has remained in the limelight just as much as Pepsi has. Working hand in hand with our FMCG companies in the food industry, Coca-Cola has managed to maintain a foothold in the tough market for years now.

With a loyal target market, much like Pepsi. Co, the company has consistently increased their presence with ease. Coco-Cola has reported a healthy earning of around $6.55 billion in this year and has ensured that they’re going to be around consistently.

While there are other FMCG companies who also had a good run this year, these were the top global FMCG companies in 2018.
